: There is a lady I work on the same floor with. She is a secretary and has absolutely no authority over me. I work on our company web page and am answerable only to the VP. She intermittently, when no one is around, goes off the handle and accuses me of trying to give her a hard time, get her in trouble, etc, and then lies to my boss about what happens. My boss and I have been good friends for a long time and he knows that when I tell him something that has happened, that I am truthful with him, but the situation is difficult. She will not respond to an apology, even though she is in the wrong, I will attempt to give one just to keep peace. I am about to quit my job and have lost time from work just to avoid being around her. What can "I" do to resolve this quietly? Please help me if you can. Thank you.
