I work for a large retail store for 2 years parttime and was finally hired full time in October 31, 2001. I am a very hard worker and mostly work in housewares and appliances. I take my job seriouslyand I enjoy working there with the rest of our associates. My problem is our ast managerwho seems to find fault in whatever I do. I had a serious major operation last August/2003and I took a 3 month leave of absence which was okayed by the store, hower when I went back in Novemberof the same year. I was having terrible pains in my abdomen. There was some nights when I felt so ill that I was so overcome wth pain that I had to leave work ( I work a 11 pm to 7 am shift} my ast manager has asked me to quit so he can have a full time worker. I refused and since then he has gone out his way to embarrass me in front of my co-works. My question is can he do this and be allowed to do this. There is times when I want to answer back but if I do, he says I am being defensive. I really do enjoy my job and I sincerely think I do a good job. In all my years at this store, and with many other ast managers[usually a new one every 6 to 9 months, I have never had a boss who manages to have me so close to tears. If I could afford it, I would quit, but to me thats giving up and thats not something I would never do. Please e-mail me and let me know if there is anything legal I can do.PLEASE!!!
