I am an office manager of one Medical office. There is another office owned by the same doctor. The office manager of the other office trained me in my position. When there were conflicts with him changing the schedule at my office without my knowledge and approval, I called to explain that he was causing overtime issues at my office with his actions. He then told me that I had to do what he said and hung up on me. I then called the doctor that owned both facilities and explained the situation. He said that I was not the other office managers employee and I did not have to do as he said. He told me that he was a difficult person to deal with and that he would make him appologize. I later called him and attempted to set things right by telling him that I meant no disrespect but that I was trying to explain my situation based on what the Dr. had told me he expected from me. I further explained that I did not appreciate the way he treated me and that in the future we need to be able to communicate without confrontation. He hung up on me again. Do I have to put up with this type of behavior? Can I quit and still get unemployment? What type of complaint do I need to make so this does not happen to anyone else? Do I have to work under these conditions?
