: I work at a health care facility and I was just wondering....I asked a guy out several months ago, and he took my number but never called me. We have remained professional and this was never mentioned again. Our work relationship is great. Now there's a girl who works with me who likes him, and she has started dressing up, bringing cakes and food, flirting, and telling people she plans on getting him. Well, the guy (We'll call him Don) was talking to another male coworker and myself about this. He said he would just be in it for the sex. I told him I didn't think that was appropriate, and he shouldn't go out with her under those circumstances. Of course he ended up going out with her anyway, and he told her that I had asked him out and said not to date her. She took me aside and cussed me out about it, and told me to stay away from her man. Then she told a bunch of other people about it. I left to go home early, and I was crying. I told my supervisor about it, and he told me it would be looked into. No one ever said anything to me about it again, except another coworker told me they might get me in trouble since I had asked him out, and told him not to date her, that made it look like I was after him even though 6 months had passed between the time I asked him out and told him not to date her. Do you think I could get in trouble for that? It seems like the happy couple could get in trouble for hostile work environment, not me? Can I have some professional advice, please.
