I work as a field sales rep for a company and have noticed a number of things that I do not feel are on the up and up. Their are 3 field reps in my area the first one was fired on a sunday morning on her home phone. The 2nd one was written up and faxed a 30 day performance plan on a sunday at home. She just recently had a customer that was interested in a new product line that only some of the reps have been intitled to, due to their numbers not being what the corporation wants them to be. She asked for assistance from our regional who then told her to call the VP of our company for assistance. Our company has 333 sales reps this VP told her he would give her this line to sell if she would call him with updates on all of her calls so he could see why she was failing at product placement. He continued to call her daily and wanted updates after every call she went into. She finally couldn't take it and told him that it made her feel uncomfortable to report into him and that she felt it was a form of harrasment. He then told her that he simply didnt know what to do with a a bottom of the barrel rep.... He made this same comment a number of times during her call and finally told her she would have to report into our regional manager. When she called our regional the same day she was fired. I am a nervous wreck over how they have treated these reps and feel that it is only a matter of time before they start tearing me down. Does anyone have advise on what I should do besides start interviewing which I already am.
