: two co-workers - complains of one of them harassing her verbally at work came to the union and they had words, one was swearing so the other left the room. union steward witnessed swearing. management involved by other worker and discipline to take place. How do you win this when one is provoking the other to get angry and swear. What to do?

I am employed by an organization who has a contract with another organization and one of the members affiliated with the contracting organization has been verbally abusing me to my colleagues. My employer does not take issue with the offending party or its organization when its staffers are rude, inappropriate and otherwise offensive toward us. But on more than one occasion my colleagues have conveyed to me that a particular person in this other organization has remarked that she does not want to deal with me. This is fine and this party has a right to interact with whomever pleases them. However, this party does not have the right to malign me to my colleagues. I want to protect my professional reputation from any futher and future verbal abuse and assaults from this person and anyone else. What recourse do I have?
